Important
  1. good fit. Silver solder will not fill gaps.
  2. metal must be clean.
  3. flux coverage.
    1. liquid flux can be used for small joints. past flux can be used for larger joints.
    2. past flux can be rehydrated with distilled water.
    3. don't use too much flux.
  4. solder placement is important. it must touch both pieces.
  5. don't use too much solder.
  6. heat the solder indirectly. both pieces must reach the melting temperature of the solder at the same time, or the solder will only flow on one piece.
