Millennium is Christ's current reign in heaven. Christ's reign began when He sat down at the right hand of God.
the thousand years is not viewed as literally 1000 years.
Satan being bound for the millenium is interpreted as Satan is unable (prevented?) from resisting the spread of the church.
Full Preterism - all prophesy has been fulfilled
Partial Preterism - all prophesy except the second coming has been fulfilled
Postmillennialism
"Church Age" establishes the kingdom > "golden age" on earth > heaven
The church will eventually christianize and take over the world.
Then Christ will reign from heaven through the church for (a real or figurative) 1000 years.
After this Christ will return and establish the new heavens and new earth.

The early church fathers were primarily premillennists
Prior to the council of Nicea and the church becoming the sanctioned religion of the Roman empire, the church fathers were primarily amillenists.
Augustine is generally credited with kicking off amillennialism.
