H.R.1313 - Preserving Employee Wellness Programs Act

Cleverly titled to make it sound like it's beneficial to employees.

But the new bill, sponsored by Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C if passed into law, would make it clear that employers who offered wellness programs, and require genetic testing as part of them, can legally charge workers who refuse the tests a higher price for health insurance than workers who accept the test.

CNBC: Your boss could demand you get genetic testing and hand over the results, if this congressional bill becomes law
Mercury News - Employees who decline genetic testing could face penalties under proposed bill

I read about this bill proposed in the House of Representatives, introduced by Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C.

I work for ---------, a big proponent of so called Employee Health programs. --------- has required participation, or the employee receives penalties, for years now. They do nothing to promote health, they are only a test --------- hopes we will fail, so that we have to pay even more for our health insurance.

Before the 'Employee Health Programs', before the High Deductible Health Insurance, Employees at --------- had good coverage. Now it's almost like having nothing at all.

I do not think the Federal Government should allow 'Employee Health Programs', let alone legislate to give the corporation even more power.

When this comes your way, please vote against it.

Regards,
John
